Welcome To Our First Issue!
Hello friends,
We’re thrilled to bring you the very first edition of our newsletter! Think of this as your monthly dose of encouragement, inspiration, and practical tools for living out your faith in everyday life.
In each issue you can expect:
A short devotional to refocus your heart.
Updates on what’s happening in our ministry.
Resources and opportunities to grow deeper in prayer worship and the word.
A little something to make you smile because joy is Holy too.
Our prayer is that this newsletter will inspire you. Whether you read it over your morning coffee or during a quiet evening, we hope it feels like a friend showing up at your door with good news.
HELP MEET OUR NEEDS
We are in need of donations and financial support, which can be sent in through the Support Us Page on our website.
Please also be in prayer for this Outreach Missions Ministry and for those we are called to.
We ask for prayer as we prepare to begin seeking a second Traveling Missionary/Evangelist, preferably one who can lead Worship, so we can take the next step in what God has called us to do.
Jesus said that few are willing to serve. That is even more true today when virtually everyone is more concerned about their jobs, their houses, and their debts than in listening to see if the Holy Spirit is calling them to give all that up to serve and follow Him. Yet, we believe God has someone planned for this that will be willing to do that no matter what the cost is.
What’s Been Happening?
The last two months have been full of amazing high points as well as many challenges and obstacles which the LORD has brought us through, over, or around.
We have held in-person Outreaches in several places around the Midwest: (During every one of which we were rained on.)
Lombard, IL – Steve Aronfeld assisted with this one. Shared in multiple parks. Saw here a pattern that has repeated itself several times since. In spite of not arriving at the chosen spot until much later than anticipated, God moved in that the person we most needed to speak with and offer encouragement to arrive at that exact spot when Steve and James did. God is always in control and His Timing is always spot on even when ours is not.
Kokomo, IN – Brian Penrod joined us for this Outreach. Spoke with a woman who had been experiencing homelessness and addiction but was nearing the end of her first stage of treatment. Would soon be transitioning into the next stage.
Nashville, IN – A beautiful, amazing area. Even though it again rained heavily, James was able to visit the park twice, speaking with people and take prayer walks around Nashville.
Anderson, IN – Again we see the Enemy doing everything he can to stop how God is moving and failing. James suffered a flat tire on the camper on the way to Angola. Hours later after getting back on the road, his van broke down and could not be repaired. But James continued on and moved as the Holy Spirit led.
Celina, OH – Melissa Sleppy joined James during the day for the second of two days he was able to be on-site. The illness and severe pain again flared up, causing the trip to be cut short on Thursday afternoon. Upon returning to Fort Wayne and going to the hospital, James was diagnosed with a bacterial infection in his kidneys which kept James’s home the following week as he received treatment and healed.
Angola, IN – Keith Hartley joined us for this one. Keith shared a Message of how God has been moving in his life. And James was able to share with a young woman who had just been married weeks earlier. He was able to encourage her and pray with her for all she and her new husband are facing in the days ahead.
Hillsdale, MI – One of those obstacles first popped up here. James became very ill and in part because of this and in part because of the rain, had to cut the trip short to two days. Is looking forward to again visiting Hillsdale in the future when the Holy Spirit leads in that direction. But God was still at work. On Saturday morning, James and Melissa went to Schoaff Park in Fort Wayne to share the Weekly Conversations With The Evangelist Message. And God led someone to that very spot from Michigan. This gentleman listened to the entire Message and then stayed to talk afterwards.
NOTABLE HAPPENINGS
Brian Penrod has started his own Bible Study Message and Facebook Group, Digging Deeper: Biblical Answers To Tough Questions in conjunction with our Outreach Missions Ministry. He is blessing and encouraging many people.
The number of Views through Facebook and elsewhere for our Messages continues to grow, although we have not been able yet to make inroads with YouTube.
Our website, www.avoicecryinginthedesertoutreach.com is fully up and running.
We have received a Google Non-Profits Ad Grant of up to $10,000 month. We are praying over and examining how to best use this. How to produce quality ads and manage the account so we increase the impact the Work God has called us to has.
Throughout the Summer we have been looking for the Holy Spirit to show us opportunities to bless others by using a portion of the donations received to buy someone a meal, gas, or anything else He lays on our heart to do.
We donated to the ZUB Back To School Bash several Odyssey books and CD’s, children’s Bibles, and Teen Bibles. All of which came to us courtesy of Tyndale House Publishers and Steve Aronfeld
Give This Some Thought
Satan is a master theologian. He’s talked to God, interacted with God, believes in God’s existence, and knows more about God’s attributes and abilities than most… And yet Satan doesn’t love God. Knowledge about God doesn’t equal faith in God.
